"Transparent and Soft", Gallery X Bratislava, report by  Viera Kleinova, RUD Designmagazin:
An Austrian Lizzy Mayrl presented her designs in the Gallery X in October 2005. The visual artist, engaged predominantly in textile, displayed mostly felt objects under the title soft & transparent. The exhibition displayed her creative work. Visitors enjoyed what is recently typical for her work - soft, almost transparent sheer or perforated felt fabrics and cocoons.
    Lizzy Mayrl has always preferred to work with felt. Lizzy concentrates herself to the felt to such a degree that she went to Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Tajikistan and Lapland to explore how native inhabitants work with felt. Lizzy started her research on Asian textiles in the early 1990s when she conducted her first local research. "I wanted to know how old felt techniques had been formed. How the techniques were used, how they changed in the course of time. I was curious about the way people thought of felt in their daily life. What I perhaps wanted to find was the special atmosphere around felting", says Lizzy when describing her numerous journeys during which she did intercultural
